A Roman city with three thermal establishments

A prosperous commercial city thanks to the navigation on the Ouvèze river, Vasio or Vasio Vocontiorum (Vaison-la-Romaine) had several thermal establishments, signs of its growth and influence. The oldest are the Thermes du Centre (Central Thermal Baths) - whose Arch is visible here - in the district of La Villasse. They have been partially absorbed by the Maison au Buste en Argent (Silver Bust House) which faces them. Two other thermal establishments have been identified in the ancient Roman city: the Thermes du Nord (Northern Thermal Baths) located beyond the Roman theater and the thermal baths of the Quai Pasteur near the Ouvèze.
