Each year the Fonderie Cornille-Havard in Villedieu-les-Poêles produces around a hundred bells. Since 1865, the site perpetuates the knowledge of the guilds of yesteryear, whose methods have hardly changed. In addition to church bells, the foundry also produces chimes, statues of artists, and plaques or bas-reliefs. The original workshop is still accessible to visitors who can attend a casting. The ground is still covered with wooden blocks, cut vertically, in order to deaden the contact when the bells were rolled.
