A free-access library

The reading room of the Villa du Temps Retrouvé in Cabourg provides visitors with a free-access library that invites them to discover the literature of the Belle Epoque. There are works by authors such as André Gide, Anatole France, or Pierre Louÿs but also those of the great classical playwrights (Aeschylus, Aristophanes, etc) who laid the foundations of modern literature. The works loaned by the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (National Library of France) also include the original manuscript of Within a Budding Grove by Marcel Proust. Obviously excluded from the public consultation, it was one of the first pieces exhibited at the Villa du Temps Retrouvé.
