The plan of the large patrician villa - now transformed into the Hôtel de la Mer - of the Domaine du Rayol in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer is traditional. It consists of a row of lounges in symmetry on the ground floor, a vestibule, and a ceremonial staircase leading to the upstairs bedrooms, the service rooms (kitchen, garage, servants' rooms) extending in an annex wing. The exterior architecture of the villa mixes double columns, bull's eye windows, stucco bas-reliefs, painted friezes, cornices, railings, balconies, and flat terraced roofs.
