A vineyard of several altitudes

The AOC Faugères vineyard (controlled designation of origin) is nestled in the Haut Languedoc natural park. This vineyard benefits from a very particular terroir made up entirely of schist, this rock with a flaky structure. The Château La Liquière vineyard is located on the heights of the appellation and faces the Mediterranean Sea. The environment around the vineyard is made up of scrubland, forests of holm oaks, and scrub spread over an altitude varying from about 500 to 1 150 feet ( 150 to 350 m). These differences in altitude allow winegrowers to distribute their crops according to soil temperatures.
