The southern slope of the Sainte-Victoire mountain is made up of 1,640 to 2,296 ft (500 to 700 m) high limestone cliffs that form a white wall dotted with scrub vegetation made rare by the fire of 1989. At the foot of the cliffs, some fields of olive trees and vineyards remain. The dry crops (lavender, almond trees, Provence herbs) are in decline in the region, as is agro-pastoralism.
