An egg or a horseshoe ?

A horseshoe or an egg? When specialists discuss Bugatti cars, one subject is most often brought up: the shape of the iconic radiator grid. Did Ettore Bugatti use the horseshoe as a model or rather another form? As it is well known, company founder Ettore Bugatti loved horses and collected carriages from a young age. Yet, the grid's shape does not originate from a horseshoe but rather the oval of an egg that Bugatti found perfect. An abundant collection of his cars is on display at the Cité de l'Automobile, in Mulhouse.
