The Yonne department has 154 miles (248 km) of waterways, canals (Burgundy and Nivernais) and rivers (Yonne and Seille) combined, out of the 621 miles (1000 km) of Burgundy. Widely dedicated to pleasure boating and river tourism, the canals are open to navigation eight months a year, from the change to summer time at the end of March, to the change to winter time at the end of October... the opportunity for these tourists to sunbathe on the deck of their rental boat
