A cloud of fish floats over the sky of the restaurant of the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. The Fish Lamp was created by architect Frank Gehry for whom fish seems to be a recurring theme, perhaps reminiscent of his grandmother's carps. It also appears in Kobe, leaning against a building he designed in 1986. The same year, Frank Gehry installed a copy made of glass in Minneapolis before adapting it into a metal trellis in Barcelona in 1992. The fish of the Fondation Louis Vuitton were created from formica and silicone. The movements of the animals are sometimes reminiscent of the signature twists of the buildings designed by Frank Gehry.
