Now in ruins, the Saint-Pierre theater in Martinique was a classic Italian-style theater built on a scale model of the Bordeaux theater during the fourth quarter of the 18th century. Its semicircular floor surrounded by boxes could accommodate eight hundred spectators. It opened onto a rectangular stage preceded by a vestibule and a peristyle. Access was via a series of three steps from what is now Rue Victor Hugo in the Fort Saint-Pierre district.
