The 7,356 acres (2,977 ha) territory of the village of Roussillon in the Vaucluse department is mainly (72.7%) made up of agricultural land particularly dedicated to the cultivation of vines (22.4%), fruits, or mushrooms. Deciduous and coniferous forests cover a quarter of the municipal area. As for the urban fabric, it only occupies 215 acres (87 ha) or 2.9% of Roussillon's territory, resulting in a low population density of 44 inhabitants per square kilometer.
