The Valensole plateau is a widely open territory in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department which presents great horizons of cereal crops and lavender fields punctuated by a few olive groves but also isolated trees and more or less fragmented woodlands. At a lower altitude than the neighboring Puimichel Plateau, it is crossed by the Colostre valley and many other more intimate small dales.
