The territory of the village of Ménerbes in the Vaucluse department includes the agricultural plain of Calavon to the north and rises south to the cedar forest of Bonnieux that joins the summit of the Petit Luberon. In its most hilly part, its geology consists of a vast area of marly limestone barred by cliffs of harder limestones. Ménerbes is mainly covered by forests (52.7 %) and cultivated agricultural zones (36.3 %), the urbanized spaces representing only 0.5 % of its 7,480 acres (3,027 ha) area.
