Romanée-Conti is among the jewels of Burgundian wines. A symbol of French excellence, the 16th-century estate produces few bottles (about 6,000 per year), which has given them great value, the rarity creating envy. Prices vary from 1,000 to 10,000 euros depending on the vintage, the condition of the bottle, its cork, and its label. The estate, property of Cluny Abbey until 1584, became Prince of Conti's in 1760.
