Notre-Dame Church rises 272 ft (83 m) above the town of Épernay. It was erected between 1898 and 1915 on the site of a former Ursuline convent. It underwent numerous German bombardments in 1918 and was restored between 1922 and 1925. Notre-Dame Church is characterized by its medieval transition style. Its exterior is inspired by Romanesque architecture, while the interior displays primitive Gothic. Numerous restored 16th-century stained-glass windows show liturgical scenes along with harvests, dear to this region of Champagne wines.
