Built on the site of a former hunting ground and promenade of the kings of France, the famous Parc des Princes stadium stands out in the landscape of the Porte de Saint-Cloud, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. Recognisable by its roof spiked with sharp concrete ribs, it was designed in 1972 by the architect Robert Taillibert, who also designed the Olympic Stadium in Montreal. The largest stadium in France until the construction of the Stade de France in 1998, the Parc des Princes began hosting concert events in the late 1980s. It is currently preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
