A major spot for kitesurfing

Protected by a coral reef and spared from mass tourism, the maritime area of Pointe Faula in the southeast of Martinique benefits from ideal conditions for the practice of kitesurfing. It shelters warm (from 78 to 89° F / 26 to 32° C) and relatively calm waters, few waves, strong winds, and shallow white bottoms. Kiters meet there in large numbers in the water and on the southern area of the beach that is dedicated to them. This spot, which has become a major site for kitesurfing on the island of flowers, also hosted the first edition of the FISE (International Festival of Extreme Sports) Caribbean Academy in 2014 with long-distance and freestyle demonstrations.
