Mont-Saint-Michel is considered blessed by the Saint himself, who supposedly asked Bishop Aubert to build it. Only a simple chapel at its beginnings, the growing faith in the Kingdom of France made it the Wonder of the West. Mont-Saint-Michel became a place of pilgrimage as frequented as Rome or Santiago of Compostela and still remains a site of perpetual prayer to the Saint who dominates its spire.
