A site of Roman origins

The history of the agricultural estate located on the site of Malherbe in Bormes-les-Mimosas in the Var department dates back to the Romans. It used to feed the Roman garrisons installed in Brégançon. In 1935, Louis Ferrari, a textile industrialist from Isère, acquired and transformed the farm attached to the fort into a holiday resort for his family. The domain of Château Malherbe, more dedicated to agriculture than to wine-growing back then, comprised 62 acres (25 ha) of vines.
