The Demoiselles Coiffées of Pontis are visible from the Pontis Pass or from the road that runs along the lake of Serre-Ponçon between Savines-le-Lac and Le Sauze-du-Lac. They stand on a site listed since 1966 that covers an area of 5 acres (2.6 ha). Their surroundings were enhanced in 1999 thanks to a pedestrian path of ninety-two steps punctuated by esplanades equipped with explanatory panels. The fragile heart of the site thus remains protected from visitors and any possible damage.
