A sense of peace and serenity
The crosses all face Westward, towards the United States. The perfect alignment of the graves on the immaculately maintained emerald-green lawn and the omnipresence of the sea inspire an unforgettable sense of peace and serenity. At the crossing of the main alleys, the Chapel shelters a black marble altar bearing the inscription: I give them eternal life and they shall never perish. In the Garden of the Missing, located behind the Memorial, the names of 1,557 missing in the area are engraved on an arched wall.
