An ancestral know-how

The Camargue salt workers are true salt farmers. They are the operators of these lands that surround the Mediterranean basin. The salt workers pass on this know-how from generation to generation and accompany the work of nature in harmony with the climate and the movements of water and wind. The ‘Compagnie des Salins du Midi’, which brings together the main producers of Camargue salt, has committed to preserving the richness of the saline by signing the Natura 2000 charter for ‘Petite Camargue’ in 2005 and contributes to the operations carried out to maintain and protect this exceptional natural area.
