The Saint-Sébastien church is located in Allauch, a town of 20,000 inhabitants attached to the Marseille Provence Métropole conurbation and extending 7.4 mi (12 km) north-west of the center of Marseille (background). The monument was built in 1625 to replace an old chapel from 1511 dedicated to the same saint usually implored during the plague. Its polychrome bell tower in glazed tiles is unique in the Provence region.
