A revival in decorations
While there were no longer decorations on bells for 200 years, the tradition has returned. Engraver artists are now called upon to craft more personalized bells. At the Fonderie Cornille-Havard, Paul Bergamo has perpetuated the tradition since 2012 and systematically personalizes large projects. The nine bells he supplied to Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral in 2013 were decorated by Virginie Bassetti (designer) and Jean-Claude Quinette (artist-engraver).
