The Yellow-legged gull is omnivorous with a clear preference for fish. Opportunistic, it feeds on what it finds : mollusks, insects, earthworms, seeds, berries ... but also animal corpses and small mammals. It also eats eggs and loots the broods of terns or petrels. In urban areas, it frequents the garbage dumps.
