A host site for hawks and owls

The steep slopes of the Ribeauvillé forest, near Riquewihr, do not allow lumbering. The absence of silvicultural intervention has allowed the development of a natural forest. It provides the woods with an untouched landscape and a diverse animal life. The botanical interest of this slope lies mainly in the presence of species associated with rocky outcrops. The inaccessible cliffs make these hills a potential host site for species such as hawks or the Grand Duke.
