"La Jamais Contente" (The Never Contented) was an electric car designed and driven by the Belgian Camille Jénatzy. It was the first automobile to pass the 62 mi/h (100 km/h) threshold on April 29, 1899. With its resolutely new design, the "Jamais Contente" innovated with equal-sized wheels, a search for aerodynamics, and a lighter body thanks to aluminum. Between 1898 and 1902, the fastest cars were electric. They were quiet, easy to drive, more comfortable and cleaner than petrol cars. A replica of "La Jamais Contente" is on display at the Cité de l'Automobile in Mulhouse.
