A protected promontory of gneiss cliffs

0
The Nez de Voidries (Voidries nose) is a rocky promontory displaying gneiss cliffs 590 ft (128 m) high. It faces the Nez de Jobourg (Jobourg nose) beyond the bay of Ecalgrain that separates them. Together, they form a geological zone that dates from the Precambrian (2 billion years ago). In height, a path called smugglers' path connects the two capes. They belong to the natural site of La Hague, whose rich fauna and flora are monitored by Natura 2000 and the ZNIEFF (Natural Areas of Ecological Interest, Fauna and Flora).
