A precise coloring process

The traditionally white beach huts of Le Havre were adorned with colors during Karel Martens' Un Été au Havre (A Summer in Le Havre) project. The stripes were created according to a technicolor grid calculated by the Computer Science, Information Processing, and Systems Laboratory of the University of Le Havre Normandie. Thanks to an idea from the team, the colors were sequenced according to the width of the bands using an algorithm based on the founding charter of Le Havre, enacted by King Francis I of France, founder of the city.
