A bridge subject to the Ouvèze floods

Damaged at the end of the Second World War by German dynamiting, the Gallo-Roman bridge of Vaison-la-Romaine was restored in 1953. It regularly suffers from the floods of the Ouvèze it spans and whose flow can spectacularly increase during significant rainy episodes. On August 15, 1616, a flood washed away its parapets again deteriorated during the episode that mourned the city by making thirty-seven victims on September 22, 1992.
