The current barquettes marseillaises are usually decked. Their wide hatch deck runs the length of the boat and accommodates three benches: the apro bench, the mast bench, and the stern bench. Its freeboard (distance between the water level and its upper part) is low, but its well-marked longitudinal curvature (sheer) gives it an elegant silhouette.
