The Chausey archipelago in western Normandy constitutes a haven for birds, mollusks, and crustaceans. Its landscapes are constantly renewed by the highest tides in Europe, and some of its islands appear and disappear depending on the time. They are sometimes surrounded by mudflats and sandbanks. The small islands that remain emerged permanently are the refuge of a multitude of seabirds that nest in the crevices and feed there.
