The landscape of the Montagne de Reims Regional Nature Park is very diverse. Forests and fields alternate with vineyards. The harmonious hillsides are one of France’s most beautiful wine-growing treasures. Starting from Reims or Epernay, the Champagne route allows you to plunge into history over a distance of 43.5 miles (70 km). The forest is also quite attractive. The mystery remains as to the origin of these strange Verzy scythes, beeches (Fagus sylvatica var. tortuosa) with tortuous shapes. The Faux de Verzy biological reserve is the world’s main site for scythes, with about 800 trees.
