0
From 1850, the seaside town of Houlgate considerably grew. Architects gave free rein to their imagination by offering models of villas in various styles. They decorated them with brick or ceramic motifs and jagged ridges that distinguished each villa from its neighbors. Surrounded by vast gardens, the houses can be classified into four types: Gothic, Renaissance, Classic, and more and more regional with the development of Norman villas.
