The Camargue Regional Nature Park is one of the fifty-seven regional nature parks in France. Open on the Mediterranean, it extends inside the Rhône delta, between the two arms of the river. The park covers more than 247,105 acres (100,000 ha) over the territories of three municipalities: all of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer and part of Arles and Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône. It is made up of a 46.6 miles (75 km) coastline and a succession of marshes, fields, and rice paddies where wild pink flamingos and breeding bulls rub shoulders.
