The hot glass shaping carried out at the Verrerie de Biot in the Alpes-Maritimes department requires numerous gestures and tools in addition to the different blowing stages and the blowing cane. The glassmakers use steel bars (pontils and studs) to grip the glass, hollowed wooden cubes (mallets) to center and distribute it, and irons to open it and sketch the shape later finalized with scissors.
