A daring work dedicated to culture

The twelve glass sails of the Louis Vuitton Foundation envelop the heart of the building. All different shapes and sizes, they give the impression of swelling and overlapping. Around the Foundation, the Bois de Boulogne and Paris form a backdrop for this futuristic nave. Architect Frank Gehry chose quadrangular curved glass, better suited to the final result. The 3,584 panes, all different, were specially melted in a dedicated furnace and then inserted into a sliding metal structure. Innovative techniques offer Paris a daring structure dedicated to culture.
