A commemorative plaque on one of the walls of the Notre-Dame-Sous-Terre Chapel pays tribute to Yves-Marie Froidevaux. Between 1957 and 1983, this great specialist in medieval architecture and chief curator of the Monuments Historiques carried out various restoration works on Mont-Saint-Michel. During this period, skeletons were found buried in the chapel, the remains of monks, soldiers, prisoners and pilgrims. A plaque on the ground marks the location of this ossuary.
