The tradition of soap making gave the factories a name evocative of luck to make their activity prosper under the best auspices. It is, therefore, to bring good fortune that the name 'Fer à Cheval' was chosen. In addition, the horseshoe logo has seven stamps (nail holes) instead of the usual eight, as seven is also a lucky number. This double precaution has contributed to the success of the factory, today the largest producer of Savon de Marseille in the region.
