The Cotentin donkey (Equus asinus), or grey 'quéton' of the Manche, is distinct due to its grey coat which varies from light to dark and is called grey dove. It has a beautiful upright head with huge ears. Its adorable white muzzle and straight mane make it look like a sweet plush; it is a very popular animal with children. The Cotentin donkey reaches adulthood between 3 and 4 years old. Its back has a crucial band of black hair that runs down to its shoulders. The donkeys are very intelligent and could return to the farm on their own after the milking of cows in the pastures.
