Perched above the village of Saint-Saturnin-lès-Apt in the heart of an old medieval fortress, the castle chapel leaning against the castle's keep was built in the middle of the 11th century and consecrated in 1056 by the bishops of Arles, Senez, and Apt. A staircase located near the Romanesque chapel provides access to an orientation table as well as a Stations of the Cross and a 19th-century Calvary. Headed for the village, after a vault, visitors can see a crypt and its recumbent statue. A cobblestone path then runs alongside the overhanging rock and leads to the Viramont gate of the 13th-century rampart.
