A monastery open to the public

0
Listed as a Historical Monument since 1921, the Chartreuse de la Verne is today fully restored and occupied by around thirty nuns of Bethlehem, the Assumption of the Virgin, and Saint-Bruno. Several parts of the monastery are open to the public, as they allow and organize visits in respect of their monastic vocation. The tour offers a loop starting from the gatehouse that also serves as an exhibition and sales space. It includes the barn, the bakery, the adoration chapel, the stoop, the ramparts, the 17th-century small cloister, the Romanesque church, the 17th-century side chapels, the witness cell, the oil mill, and the cellar.
