Long neck in a ‘s’ shape
1
0
With its white plumage, its long black legs, its slender neck, its graceful flight, and its static posture when hunting or when feeling threatened, the Great Egret lives nearby shallow water. It can reach up to 40 in (100 cm) high and 63 in (160 cm) wingspan. The flight is direct and sustained with firm, wide wings flapping. The slender bird lands gently and elegantly after a long slide, its wings spread. When in flight and at rest, its long thin neck is pulled into an ‘S’-shaped curve.
