A jewel-like logo

When Louis Vuitton died in 1892, his son Georges, who succeeded him at the head of the family leather goods business, wanted to pay tribute to him. Four years later, he created the famous LV monogram intertwined with small four-petal flowers that adorned his kitchen floor. The monogram immediately became a symbol of the brand, and the label was placed on the suitcases manufactured by the company. Since then, the monogram has been recognized worldwide. Bernard Arnault, the CEO of the LVMH group, wanted to install a metal logo, chiselled like a jewel, on the entrance wall of the Louis Vuitton Foundation.
