A coast untouched by seaside urbanization
0
0
The terroir of La Palme is one of the last areas on the Mediterranean coast still untouched by seaside urbanization. On this protected territory, the white, pink, and salty lands rub shoulders between the sea and the scrubland. The La Palme salt produced there has been recognized and appreciated since Antiquity for its quality and purity. The saltworks can be visited aboard a small electric train or a horse-drawn carriage. Over the 988 acres (400 ha) of the site, the tour exhibits the history of salt and the secrets of the salt workers.
