The 82 ft high lighthouse (25 m) of Verzenay sits on top of Mont Rizan, offering a 360° panorama on the vineyards. Built in 1909 as an advertisement for the champagnes of Joseph Goulet, it used to display the name of its owner everywhere. He installed a restaurant in annex buildings, now demolished, and a ballroom. The lighthouse quickly became a significant meeting place in the region before World War I. After its purchase by the municipality of Verzenay in 1987, it was renovated from 1994 to 1999. The name of Joseph Goulet disappeared, and an eco-museum dedicated to the vine was erected next door.
