The island of Bagaud in the coastal archipelago of the islands of Hyères culminates at 226 ft (69 m), is rich in rocky cliffs, covered with vegetation, and closed to access. It constitutes a place of refuge and nesting for several species of seabirds. The island houses more or less large colonies of yelkouan shearwaters, Desmaret's cormorants, yellow-legged gulls, and different species of petrels.
