Les Franciscaines is a hybrid place of culture restored and fitted out by the Moatti-Rivière architectural firm. It combines knowledge and arts by offering a museum, an auditorium, a library, and a documentation center on the same site. Installed in the former convent of the Franciscans of Deauville in the Calvados department, this 19,685 square feet (6,000 m²) space opened its doors on June 27, 2020. The inaugural exhibition imagined by Régis Debray was devoted to the idea and representations of paradise through the works of artists such as Brueghel the Elder, Dürer, Turner, Chagall, or Braque.
