At the top of the Montsec hill, Madine Lake is nestled between two valleys in the heart of the Woëvre plain. Its waters are teeming with fish and welcome a wide range of species such as pike, pikeperch, carp, catfish, tench, and roach. Hundreds of aquatic birds also come to rest on the lake's banks every year during migrations. A discovery trail and an ornithological observatory allow visitors to observe the birds without disturbing them.
