The Val de Gorbio is one of the four valleys perpendicular to the coast of the territory of the municipality of Menton. It offers hikers a two-hour walk sheltered from the wind and along the eponymous waterway, sometimes a rushing torrent but more often a peaceful stream. The flora there is particularly rich and, at the end of the 19th century, the Menton historian and naturalist Honoré Ardoïno counted more than a thousand spontaneous species.
